Marking the 90th Birthday of Sofia Gubaidulina

In Situ Art Society is a non-profit organization whose purpose it is to promote contemporary art, with an emphasis on those forms of music playing only a marginal role in concert performance. On the occasion of Sofia Gubaidulina’s 90th birthday, the In Situ Art Society plans to hold a small festival of her chamber music works in Bonn. Alongside early compositions such as Piano Quintet (1957) and Chaconne (1962) for solo piano, the program includes So sei es (2013) for violin, double bass, piano and percussion. These four concerts marking the composer’s birthday are made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
