Composition Commissions issued to Pierluigi Billone, Steven Takasugi, Marina Khorkova, Jessie Marino and Marek Poliks

Bludenzer Tage zeitgemäßer Musik, Austria

In 2015 the Bludenz Festival of Contemporary Music will be held for the 28th time now. This is the second year it will be managed by Clara Iannotta. This Italian composer will focus on concerts that are extended by theatrical and visual elements towards a holistic work of art. At the same time, she will also attach special importance to the promotion of promising young talents.

For this reason, the festival this year will be issuing five composition commissions – to Pierluigi Billone, Steven Takasugi, Marina Khorkova, Jessie Marino and Marek Poliks – with the support of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. Furthermore, for the first time now masterclasses for six outstanding young composers will be offered with Steven Kazuo Takasugi and Pierluigi Billone. This will give students from throughout the world the chance to attend the concerts in Bludenz, meet artists, take part in composition classes and present their own music at daily meetings.

November 19 – 22, 2015
Remise, Bludenz
