Composition Commission issued to Philippe Manoury

Paris’ Orchestre de Chambre has set itself the task of providing a forum for new and the latest music. It has now become something of a tradition to regularly invite talented French composers to a guest artistic residency. From 2013 to 2015 this task has been assumed by Philippe Manoury who is being commissioned during this period to write a cello concert. The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is supporting the composition commission. The work is dedicated to renowned cellist Gauthier Capuçon who will also premiere the piece on October 14, 2015 under the baton of Douglas Boyd.
