LSO Commission Series 2020-2021

The London Symphony Orchestra will premiere five major new orchestral works during September 2020 to September 2021. Featuring commissions from Mark-Anthony Turnage, Unsuk Chin, Francisco Coll, Mark Simpson and Ondřej Adámek, the series will place pioneering new music at the heart of the LSO’s program. Led by LSO Music Director Sir Simon Rattle and LSO Principal Guest Conductors François-Zavier Roth and Gianandrea Noseda, the LSO Commission Series 2020-2021 will include Turnage´s Last song for Ollie, violin concerts by Chin, Coll and Simpson and a piece by Ondřej Adámek. The LSO will co-commission each of these works with orchestras across Europe and the USA, ensuring that the works have substantial international reach beyond the LSO’s performances.
