Composit New Music Festival 2015

Composit Onlus, Italy

Awaiting young composers at the Composit New Music Festival in Rieti is a setting marked by the greatest creativity and inspiration. This year sees the festival being held and supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation for the fourth time now.
From numerous applications twelve composers are invited to work here with the guest lecturers Perluigi Billone, Davide Ianni and Joshua Fineberg. During their stay students can work with teachers in one-to-one lessons and take part in seminars and master classes. Themes here include computer-aided composition as well as compositional approaches and aesthetics in the music of Pierluigi Billone and Joshua Fineberg. Furthermore, every participant has the chance to present their own works.
On the third day of the festival the composers start rehearsals with the festival ensemble. Here they receive feedback and tips on the practical implementation of their ideas from experienced musicians like Tom de Cock, Vincent Daoud, Maarten Stragier and Luca Piovesan. The lecturers are also included in this process.
Finally, at the end of the festival, the new works are presented to the audience in two evening concerts.
