Concert project ENVIROMENT

Indigenous instruments meet a large vocal soloist ensemble. Together, the Orquesta Experimental de Instrumentos Nativos (OEIN) and the Berlin soloist collective PHØNIX16 are developing a concert project on the theme of ENVIRONMENT. ENVIRONMENT as our environment, nature, as political, philosophical and acoustic thought and ENVIRONMENT as a form of artistic practice. In 2018, the ensemble PHØNIX16 worked with the composer and artistic director of the OEIN Carlos Gutierrez in Berlin, as part of the DAAD music programme. It was then that the idea of a cooperation between the ensembles was born. The connection to breath is present in the approaches of both groups, as well as the curiosity to find unknown ways, to make the impossible possible and to expand their own repertoire. New compositions by Carlos Gutierrez and Marisol Jimenez expand the timbres of both ensembles by using sound machines.
