Hamburger Klangwerktage – Festival for Young Contemporary Music 2010

The Hamburg Klangwerktage – Festival for Young Contemporary Music is an international festival for aspiring talents that will be held for the fifth time now in 2010. Under the artistic direction of Christiane Leiste the festival aims to highlight the innovative and inventive nature of contemporary music. In 2009 two composition commissions were issued thereby promoting young Hamburg composers and ensembles and providing them with new experimental modes of expression. Also invited alongside these exciting and lively "local heroes" were internationally acclaimed composers like György Kurtág and Wolfgang Rihm. With the support of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation composition commissions will also be issued for Klangwerktage 2010.
