Composition Commission issued to Oscar Bianchi

The Ensemble Festival for Contemporary Music 2020 is an initiative of the Forum of Contemporary Music Leipzig and the Ensemble Tempus Konnex. In the first edition the festival invites the most important ensembles of contemporary music from China (Ensemble ConTempo Beijing), Japan (Ensemble NOMAD) and Russia (Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble) to meet two German ensembles (Ensemble Musikfabrik, Ensemble Tempus Konnex) in Leipzig. Several world premieres as well as numerous European and German premieres are on a programme that repeatedly explores the boundaries to electronic music and media art. Furthermore, the promotion of young artists is an essential part of the four-day programme. In cooperation with the Leipzig Academy of Music and Theatre, MDR, Schaubühne Lindenfels, Werk 2 -Kulturfabrik and UT Connewitz, numerous workshops, seminars and lectures with international participants will take place. The Ensemble Festival for Contemporary Music 2020 also announces an international composition competition. For an exclusive joint concert by the ensembles ConTempo Beijing, NOMAD, MCME and Tempus Konnex, a composition commission will be issued to Oscar Bianchi, financed by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
