22nd Fondation Royaumont Composition Workshop

Fondation Royaumont

Since 1990 the Fondation Royaumont Composition Workshop has made it possible for an annual 15 aspiring composers to write pieces for vocal and/or instrumental ensembles over a three-week period at Royaumont Abbey. The aim here is to create a ten-minute piece of work, the first part of which must already be submitted before the start of the workshop to be completed during the stay in Royaumont under the guidance of the composers leading the workshop. This year the workshop funded by the EvS Music Foundation will be led by Brian Ferneyhough, Mark Andre and Beat Furrer. The workshop will then be concluded by two concerts in which the ensembles Les Cris de Paris, ensemble recherche and Quatuor Xasax will perform the 15 new works.
