Composition Commission issued to Bernd Franke

Cottbus State Theater will be presenting two works for large orchestra and soloists under the heading “Brandenburgische Doppelkonzerte” that deal with the meeting between East and West. Here performers from different cultures will meet together and give expression to their hope for peaceful coexistence.
As part of this project composition commissions will be issued to Bernd Franke and Evan Christ whose works will be premiered by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the state theater. The EvS Music Foundation is supporting the composition commission issued to Bernd Franke who will be writing the first of the Brandenburg Double Concerts and setting the texts of the Syrian poet Adel Karasholi to music as well as reciting his own works in German.
