VISIBLE(IN)VISIBLE – Composition Commission issued to Grzegorz Pieniek

The Österreichische Gesellschaft für Neue Musik is issuing composition commissions for four-hand piano duos in order to free this particular genre from old clichés and to sound out musical opportunities for it in contemporary music. 

 

The project is planned as a work in progress to be developed into a series of events featuring new works by Stefano Trevisi, Giorgio Klauer, Johannes Kretz and Grzegorz Pieniek which will also explore and focalize electronic music and new media. The program is combined with piano works by Sánchez-Chiong and Wolfgang Rihm while Italo-Croatian artist Lara Ušić will also develop projections. The composition commission issued to Grzegorz Pieniek will come care of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. With its strong focus on four-hand playing the Italian piano duo Novalis will perform the new works.
