Composition Commission to Anahita Abbasi

Boasting not only a very personal tonal language Anahita Abbasi is also a co-founder of the Iranian Female Composers Association (IFCA). Her own story as an emigrant to the USA can serve as but one example for the many, over 50 members of her organization worldwide.

Thus, as part of the concert series of the ensemble der/gelbe/klang, founded in 2020, it is not only Anahita Abbasi who is portrayed as a composer, but also the IFCA as a whole. The first half of the concert will offer up works by Iranian women composers curated by Anahita Abbasi, while the second half will feature an ensemble work composed by Abbasi especially for the occasion.
