Composition Commissions to Giorgio Colombo Taccani and Uros Rojko

Since its foundation in 1961, the Raschèr Saxophone Quartet has been performing at the great concert halls of this world. In this series of concerts in three Slovak cities, together with pianist Ladislav Fanzowitz, it will perform new arrangements of works by Bach and Mozart, as well as new compositions by Giorgio Colombo Taccani and Uros Rojko.

Taccani (*1961) studied Piano and Composition at the Conservatorio G. Verdi in Milan. His compositions have won prizes at national and international competitions and are regularly performed at concerts and festivals.

Rojko (*1954) studied Composition and Clarinet in his hometown Ljubljana, under Klaus Huber in Freiburg and György Ligeti in Hamburg. He too has received several prizes for his works that were featured at numerous music festivals. He has also commissioned works for the Munich State Opera, the Donaueschingen Music Festival and the Berlin Biennale, among others.
