The aspekteFESTIVAL is one of the oldest and most established festivals of New Music in Austria. It stands for over 40 years of innovation offering an encounter with the "new" featuring performances of the highest level. aspekte proves that both the traditional and the contemporary have their place in Austria's musical landscape.

The aspekteFestival has made a key contribution to advancing New Music and making it accessible. The festival has always remained strongly rooted in the region, incorporating local cultural players within its diverse range of collaborations and presenting, positioning and promoting Austrian composers and performers of New Music.

2022 sees the festival focus on the work of British composer Rebecca Saunders. The performance of her work Skin is made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.

Alongside traditional and contemporary compositions, works by the winners of the young composers' competition "Jugend komponiert" and the talent contest "Call for Scores" will also be performed.
