Young Composers Scheme 2022

National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, Durham, United Kingdom

NYCGB's Young Composers Scheme for talented young choral composers, is offering them the opportunity to experiment with and realize new choral works, develop professional networks, and gain invaluable insights and skills from UK's leading choral experts. In 2022, facilitated by the EvS Music Foundation, the YCS will offer a series of creative courses and ongoing musical mentoring for four young British composers, aged 18-29, from diverse musical and cultural backgrounds. Throughout the year, the young musicians will be mentored by NYCGB's artistic director, Ben Parry, team and choral directors. They also participate in a series of master classes with other professional artists. They receive expert advice and instruction – for example, from Errollyn Wallen, The Swingles, David Arnold, John Rutter, Alexander Campkin, Roxanna Panufnik and Jonathan Dove.
